Caller ID Display
« on: September 30, 2014, 09:11:42 AM »
Is there a way to have 5330 and 5340 phones show the entire last name and first name on the caller ID display? Currently, it shows the first initial of the first name and the entire last name.

Thanks,

I just noticed that if I call another phone that's programmed to the same PBX I do see the full name but if I call any other phone I get first initial and full last name. Maybe this is a COS programming issue.

I think that's the way it works for internal calls.
You could change the way the name is entered in the TelDir.  For example "Smith,John" becomes "John Smith".

sure enough that worked! Doesn't the telephone directory pull from user and device form so by manipulating the TD could that cause issues somewhere else?

The only issue I can think of is when a user tries to look up a name.
The work around that is to program the user both ways in the Teldir.
On the "John Smith" entry mark it as prime.
