Maintenance command question
« on: April 15, 2014, 04:28:04 PM »
3300 MXe 2-Clustered Rel 4.2 / 10.2.0.26_2  EMB-VM 6-SX200 10-ASU

When I use the "Locate all free dn 7700 to 7799"  (using any DNs)   I get the response:

LOCATE: Warning! file *.LOCATE.FREE_DN will  be overwritten.
7700 -  7799
The free DNs within the given range can be found in *.LOCATE.FREE_DN.

My Question - This file that will be overwritten, *.LOCATE.FREE_DN.   How would I see this file and why do I care that it's being overwritten ?

Thank you,

You'd have to FTP into the controller to pull the file.

I don't see a reason why you'd care that its being overwritten, other than if you wanted to refer back to what the command might have told you previously.

I usually just copy the commands reply into a text file while working, and then just close it when I'm done.

It's just a container to hold the most recent output for the command.

I was hoping to hear exactly that.

Thank you!

If you FTP into the controller, it's in /db/cc/locate. However, I'm not sure what the file format is. You should be able to issue the "type" command to write the file contents to the maintenance command output window, though.
