When I do something big like this I'll often create the whole scenario as new pieces, still leaving the old in place...new HG, new CRA, new mbox...then I can place test calls to the new HG and check operation for as long as I need to so I'm comfortable.  No risk! When I feel good about it I can either just start sending my live calls to the new HG or go back and update the old.

I'm going to try the basic way first of creating a new mailbox.

If I create a new associated mailbox to that same hunt group, what will happen if it's already setup.
Do I have to disable/change something in the hunt group before I associate a new mailbox?

If it's already set up (mailbox number = HG number), just use it! May want to re-record the greeting.

I don't think it's setup yet, we just have the HG using the Digit Translation.  I wasn't sure if that had any affect on the new mailbox.

Whatever mailbox is called for in DIGIT TRANSLATION for 2710 is the mailbox where callers will go, whether it be an existing mailbox or a new on you create.

Trying to test this out.  I can call from outside the company, leave a message on my phone and I'll get an email notification.  But if I call the vm system from my deks phone, leave a msg, I get no email notification.  Is this normal or another setting?

I wanted to test this before I setup the hunt group with the new mailbox.

Messages are the same whether from inside or outside...if you get e-mail from one you should get from the other.  You're leaving message in the same mailbox each time, right? And both times the message shows up in voice mailbox, not just e-mail (copy & Forward) but in one case no e-mail?

I guess I'm not sure what is wrong.
I just tested again with my mailbox and the email notification works as it should.

The new mailbox notifications are not working.

STEPS:
Created new mailbox, associated with the hunt group
I dialed into that mailbox to set it up
Set the email to my address for testing, set Forward and Copy
Called and left message, email doesn't go through.

Sounds like you set it up right (I assume it's identical to your own)...is the voice mail in the voice mail box?

If you mean, is the message I left in that mailbox, then yes it is.

I'm thinking that perhaps the system at the other location isn't setup properly?  Maybe an incorrect email server password?  Would that show in any logs?

If your mailbox sends emails and the HG mailbox is identical, there's no reason for the HG mailbox not to work.  Not sure what you mean about multiple systems?  If you have a second 5000, is all the system/e-mail gateway info correct?

Each branch location has it's own programming box we log into.
I'm trying to track down the email settings to confirm that part.

I can't remember if all I have to do is set email address and the forward/copy fields, or was there any additional steps?

You need to compare the SYSTEM/E-MAIL GATEWAY settings

I did do that and they look identical to me.

Could it possibly be some type of routing issue?
