Network issues on 3300 MXe
« on: July 04, 2014, 11:10:27 AM »
Since a upgrade attempt this system has been given strange network issues. We have replaced it and costumer is working with a temporary system, but now I can't figure out, what is going wrong with it.

We were able to reproduce the same issues on our lab. This happens when we connect the PBX to a router working with VLANs. We have build a situation similar to the costumer on our lab. After a couple of minutes the same symptoms happened. The MCD was not able to be reached through the network and the phones lost their connection to the PBX. After issuing "vlan_off" through the serial port, the MCD was able to be reached again and everything came back to normal.

The MCD has vlan 1 setup in the Network settings (default settings). We are not tagging any vlan on the MCD side.
Our network is setup as data vlan 1; voice vlan 9. As router and switch equipment we are using Cisco equipment.

On the router we have configured a Ethernet port as an "access port". This port is configured as  "switchport access vlan 9". On this port we have connected the MCD. This is exact the same situation as it is at the costumer side and how we do most of the installations.

We have done a full install without restoring any backup, but that does not make any difference.

Does someone has every experienced the same. And is there someone who knows how the IP settings of the Mitel are saved and is there a way to restore that? I know that it is not saved on the hard drive of the system.

Might be worth looking at this thread as well.

Another test is to connect an IP Phone directly to the front of the MXe with no VLAN's to eliminate the network.

We have no vlans configured on option 125.

I was checking the thread and we experience exact the same thing. The error logs that they stated there, we get them also.

Thank you all for your input.
