Q: What's the coolest feature of a 3300?
« on: June 25, 2014, 09:49:55 AM »
Working with a 3300 day in and day out, it's pretty easy to take some really cool features for granted.

In your opinion, what is your favorite feature of the 3300?

Ralph, for me I have to say it is the hardware and how robust it is and the fact that (knock on wood) they last a long time. Software? I'd have to think on that one for a while.

I'm actually a big fan of being able to read the SMDR logs for call history.
No other system I've worked on had that feature.   It sure makes troubleshooting carrier issues a lot easier.

Not really specific to the 3300, but the UC360/MiVoice Video unit is a pretty cool device.

My favorite is SDS and import/export functionality.

My least favorite is tenanting trunks in a clustered environment

Coming from the Axxess/5000 side, my favorite is multiple simultaneous programming sessions in the same system, which is not possible with session manager.

Agree with all of the above plus.....

The large set of commands to see what the system is doing, check trunks, sip signalling etc etc, makes remote diagnostics easier.

I wish there was an EASY way to see where phones are registered in a clustered/resilient environment.

One of the "locate" commands will tell you what the primary/secondary PBX's are as well as which one is the active controller. I believe it even works across a cluster for remote sets.

No so easy if you have a 1000 sets across 12 different controllers.

It does.   I wish, though, it would give you the system names rather than the routing digits.   That would be just a little easier.

But I think what V2WIN may be looking for is when you step to a phone you can easily tell where it's registered to without a lot of keystrokes.
