Conference Call Capability

Hi

We have a Mitel 3300cxi and were wondering if it is possible to set up a conference call facility?  That is, a single extension/DID that internal and external people can dial into.

We would need:

*  an auto answer capability - that is, new calls are added to the CC without the need for any human intervention
*  the ability to handle up to 15 calls concurrently

We would like:

*  the ability to 'secure' the CC via a pin number

We do not need:

*  anything fancy like call recording, logging etc.

I realise we can use a third-party service but am hoping to be able to leverage the functionality of the Mitel if it's at all possible.

Yes and no.
This is quite the hack I know but worth the try.

1- Take any analog port and program it as a NON-busy extention - use a DID number.
2- on the PLID of the analog port, put a 600 ohm resister across the tip and ring.  (this simulates a phone on it, you could just hang a phone off of it.)
3 - Have several people call the DID.   You should each join.   Up to 7 calls.

Now the caveats.   1- I haven't actually tried this so you're on your own.   2- There is no security.

Thanks Ralph.  That sounds like it's worth a look.

Could I ask where the limitation of 7 concurrent calls comes from?

The system has a total capacity of 8 in a conference call.   So with the one analog port on internally, that leaves 7 external callers.

BTW- just set up an AWC conference server in our lab and trained our internal tech staff.   This system will go to 200 participants.
More secure than the Quick Conference but in order to set up a conference you need to use a browser.  No TUI.  That was the biggest complaint from our group. (Listening Mitel?  Need a TUI)
I've used the system before with data conferences with Mitel.   Great system for web conferences and audio conferences.  We'll be putting our into production soon and our sales reps are dying to start promoting it.   Over all, great product.

Ralph, do you not think that for the end user the AWC (web confernece part only) is more difficult to use than the YA Collab was?  This is just a side note, the AWC is a pretty good product even if it is left over from Intertel.

Only fired up the YA Colab once in the lab.   Never went into production with it.  I do think that the AWC is better.

  Yeah, the AWC is pretty good.  Used on on the Intertel 5000 - decent.

Having just used Conference Call and got a number wrong, would it be possible to send SMS messages with the details of date, time and the set numbers to a list from your address book?

Regarding YA Collab and AWC,
I love the AWC.  What a great product!   Just installed ours here in our office just this week and of 4 customers I showed 3 want quotes.  And I'm not even a sales rep!

We've done a couple of things to make it even simplier for fast confence set ups that makes this thing even more impressive.   Of all the products I've laid my hands on recently, this one impresses me the most.

Sounds really interesting....

Are you able to shed any light on how this is priced?  Flat fee/per user etc and the rough cost?  Not after anything exact - just want to establish whether this is a $1K or a $10K investment.

Because I'm techie and not into sales I never deal with dollars so I couldn't give you pricing and even if I could I couldn't post it here because of confidentiality.   

But....

BTW: I'm hearing (from customers) that this is extreamly competitive with WebX.

Yes.

Once you login to the moderator panel, just go to "Manage Conferences".  From there, you can create a custom conference conference ID, with whatever options and modes will best fit the needs of your conference call.
