Mitel 3300 Record a Call - Only One Recording at a Time
« on: June 19, 2014, 01:55:48 AM »
Hi,

We have a Mitel 3300 system, with mostly 5212 handsets. We have Record-a-Call buttons programmed on a number of extensions, and a "recorder" hunt group.

Currently, only one handset can be doing "Record-a-call" at a time. If I try it on another handset, the LED on the button doesn't light up. I added extra VMAIL Ports to the "recorder" hunt group (there was only one originally), but it does not fix the issue.

Where should I be looking to try and fix this? Is there a licensing thing I've missed? Is there a chance record a call doesn't go to the hunt group but directly to a VMAIL Port, and if so where would I find this setting?

Thanks,
Anthony.

Is this one of those occasions where a reboot is required to get the system to recognise the change...can't remember.

Funny, i have just finished setting this up right this second using
http://www.phonesystemhelp.info/enable-record-a-call-feature-on-nupoint/

I haven't tested yet!

Will post back in a few minutes

.......a few minutes later

I tested this as working. no reboot of the MCD or the MAS, just a reactivate of the NUPOINT after adding the new ports to the line group.

Can you ring each of your nupoint ports and get an answer?
Do they show as connected on the MCD under All IP phones?

I don't think I'm using Nupoint, just the built in Recording to VM stuff that comes with the 3300. Thanks for the suggestions though. I'll read through that link more to see if any of it applies to me.

If Record-A-Call is enabled: the voice mail ports assigned to Record-A-Call must be assigned to a hunt group of type Recorder as well as to the voice mail hunt group. Do NOT remove these ports from the voice mail hunt group

Thanks. I have done this too.

Does anything think a reboot of the system is likely to help here?

Is there some error log I can look at to see why the second record-a-call is not starting?

All these calls are via the one ISDN E1 connection, if that makes a difference.

You can do a restart on the voicemail without a reboot

1. With putty Log on to port 2002 of the target 3300

Open 192.168.10.16 2002

2. When asked enter your login credentials. This will be the same as if you were logging on via the web browser.

3. Enter the command;

iPVM_Stop()

After a few seconds the 3300 will respond with iPVM stopped

4. Enter the command;

iPVM_Start ()

After a few seconds the 3300 will respond with iPVM starting version x.xx.xx.x
