General MB
« on: June 12, 2014, 09:24:02 PM »
I have a question about how to best configure this. Ring group that overflows to NP on MAS and I need to notify multiple users of message. Do I need to make the MB a broadcast MB and assign the extensions to be notified as members of a personal DL? I can't use the MWI feature on the 3300 since the MB isn't local, all I get is that the number is in use. Not too familiar with Nupoint so hoping someone could save me some time.

If I need to make a new FCOS for this or modify an exsting one would you please include the option numbers to enable?

Thanks,

Matthew

It may be easiest to do it this way:
1) create a phantom extension  i.e. 1234
2) put the mwi of 1234 on the phones that need it.
3) create mailbox 1234
4) Put in an alternate extension of your ring group.
Now when the ring group goes to vm, the msg will drop in mailbox 1234 and light the light on all the phones.

Can I enter the two phones that need notification as the alternate extensions? Will that cause any issues if they have MBs themselves?

Built this and the customer says that the MWI on the phones lights, but the MWI buttons do not. I haven't been able to confirm this yet. Shouldn't it work this way?

That is by design, I have it setup this way and it is only the key that lights up not the envelope button.

This is how you tell whether it is VM for the user or the common message.

The user claims only the hardcoded button flashes, not the programmable key that I set as a MWI for that MB. I don't care if the big light on the phone flashes. I want the one for the MB that I programmed to flash.

The only reason that I could think that it would do this is if the phone was set as the alternate extension as well.
