Hi All,
top of the morning to you all.  I need some assistance with a task Ive been given. There are two DNI phones at the spa (4025's) and the hotel wants them replaced with IP phones. I have tried to delete the DNI extensions from 'user and device config form' but it tells me that a line is in use on one of these extensions.

I have already created 2 new fake extensions with MAC addresses in the IP phones form, just waiting to edit the extensions from the spa after ive deleted them. But im stuck, when i try to delete, it says, one of the lines on this device is in use, when I check the keys of the device, it appears on button number 6 as a message waiting indication for 4950, if i try to clear the key, it says the line is in use!

Pleaseseeeeeeee help !! - tearing my hair out mates :(

Thanks in advance!

Opal

You're going to have to clear the msg waiting on the button.
You can start by trying the FAC for msg on and then msg off on the button.
<FAC ON><extn of button>
Then
<FAC OFF><extn of button>
This may clear the lamp.
You may have to do the off code a couple of times.

Once clear, then delete the button from the phone.

Hi Ralph :)

I should also mention that 4950 is the non prime line for the spa. It appears on all the other spa extensions, so I would need to clear this button from all the others too correct, then re-program them? So if you call 8xx - 4950 it rings on all the spa phones, and each of these exts has it on button 6 as message indication for 4950 via key system setup.

You shouldn't have to touch the other appearances, but the 3300 won't let you delete an MWI key when there's an active message waiting against that DN. Turn off the MWI light, and you should be able to delete the key without impacting the other appearances of that DN.

Thank you Lundah,

having them do that now, will keep you all posted as I go along! :)

Wow! - it worked, they read the msg and i was able to delete the line appearance.

I have got the exts deleted and now added as IP phones. :)  I called 8xx-4951 -2 to test and it comes back as busy. I called the exts to test if they're working and get a busy tone. I stat them and get the below:

  Location    | Device               | State          |  Owner  | ID  |Status
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
 1 3  1  23  1| 5320 IP              | Out of Service |         |     |
 1 3  1  23  2| Unassigned           | Not applicable |         |     |
 1 3  1  23  2| Alternate Codec      | Out of Service |         |     |

Have you registered them via the superkey?

Have you registered them via the superkey?

On the 5320, you use Hold instead of Superkey (which is now called the Settings key) after entering the registration code + PIN.
