Call Forwarding - Outside
« on: June 19, 2014, 11:07:27 AM »
2 of our 5000 systems are not able to forward extensions to outside lines. This just seemed to start about 2 weeks ago but no changes have been made.
We even tested just forwarding a handset to a cell phone to see if that would work.
When we call the DID from an outside line it just beeps like a fast busy.  When we call the 4 digit extension from another handset it calls out fine.  Seems to be something coming in?
I checked and system forwarding flags are on at system and extension.

Sounds like the carrier is blocking the call because they do not recognize the Caller ID of the inbound number which is trying to propagate out from the forwarded endpoint. Try going to your Trunk Groups and set the "Propagate Original Caller ID" to No.

That was it - thank you so much!  I've been racking my brains and our carrier kept saying it was on our end.

Fleets9876,

Ask your Carrier to, "Allow for Non-Native Caller-ID" to be turned on and then you won't have an issue like this. Also, it improves the DEE function as it pushes out the original caller's CID.

Thanks,

TE
