Resetting a 5324 IP Phone to Factory Default
« on: January 15, 2014, 04:54:46 PM »
Greetings,

I have several phones that were "gifted" to us and I need to reset them to factory.  I have tried the following to no avail.  Any help would be most appreciated:

Reboot phone holding the # key
Configure Phone?
Yes
Network Parameters
No
Hardware Parameters
no
Phone Mode
No
Tool and Features
Yes
Scroll through by pressing No until you get to RESTORE DEFAULTS
Press YES
Confirm
YES

Thanks in advance

I am trying to change the extension number.  I get the menus fine, but when I do the above, it does not reset it so I can renter the number.

The extension number is related to the phone system and mac address

Ah... gotcha... well, your doing it right but that is NOT how you change an extension number. Once an extension has been associated with a MAC address of a phone via PIN registration, it can only be changed in system programming.

You have to log into the PBX and go to Form 9, find the extension it currently is and delete the MAC address first, then the phone should immediately go back to "Please enter PIN" prompt, then enter the access code and extension and press HOLD and you should be good to go.
