Creating "OPS Manager only" user
« on: December 06, 2013, 09:43:23 AM »
I would like to create an user that would only be allowed to login to OPS Manager (not to the Enterprise Manager).

In Enterprise Manager -> Tools -> Security Administration I created and new security group called "OPSMan only" and granted access to "OPS Manager" (tab Permited Operations for Group), also granted access to all available nodes (tab Node Permissions for Group). Then created a new user and assigned the security group to the user.

When I tried to log into OPS Manager (opened URL of the Ent Manager server http://server_ip:9090 and then selected "OPS Manager only") I got following error message:

"User does not belong to a valid group for launching OPS Manager"

Do you have any ideas?

I'm using Enterprise Manager v. 5.0.2.5

They have to be a member of one of the 5 default Security Groups, as those are mapped to the different OpsManager access levels. I don't believe these mappings can be changed.
