Class of Service - Timers

If for example I had an extension with a DDI attached and it had a COS that I created for it (we'll call it COS1). This extention was put on to call forward always to another extension which had a different COS (we'll call that COS2). If an external caller calls the DDI attached to ext number number (which is on call forward to ext number two) do the timer settings (eg call forward no answer) in COS1 govern the whole call. Or, because the call has been passed on to ext number two do the timers get reset and the timers in COS2 take over ?

I believe that the original COS timers take effect.
To add to the confusion, though, under certain conditions the COS of the trunks are used.
I can't remember the exact condition where the trunk COS is used.
