Changing Admin mailbox password (Mitel 3300)
« on: September 24, 2013, 09:46:20 AM »
We have a need to change the admin Mbox password on a 5.0 3300 MXe. Logging in as system root user (or any other user) going to voicemail and the admin mailbox and changing the passcode on the screen says I can't modify the admin mailbox. I have also tried it from the admin mailbox via phone with similar results...

Any ideas?

Jim

I didn't want to make the change on our system, but what if you go to Voice Mail, System Settings, VM Options, Change and under Security change the passcode for Admin. Let me know.

Thanks Buddy!

Just a reminder:
You should change all the default passwords for the admin box.
I've had to rebuild a couple of system because someone logged into the admin box at 2 in the morning and deleted the whole VM data base.
It's not a lot of fun to rebuild it.

Yeah that's what happened to me, my coworker had left admin and manager default and someone did the same thing...I just finished re-adding the boxes and rebuilding the multi-level AA on this system...

My coworker had the latest backups but her hard drive went south...
