Earlier I pinged this forum to see if anyone had connected a 7960 to a 3300.
Finally got it.
Mitel published a "How To" last week. Pretty straight forward if you know about setting up TFTP servers and such.
It works. You can make, receive calls, put calls on hold, xfer.
Lots of limitations though. I'd be hard pressed to recommend putting this in a production environment.
If any one is more seriously thinking about it, there is another product that acts as a Proxie between the 3300 and the phone, giving the 7960 almost all the features a standard Mitel phone would have. You can see more here:
