wierd issues on a mitel 5000

i have a mitel 5000 and vmail to vmail works part of the time. i loged into the mitel at the ip address for the system as the user and deleted the messages there. i left another message and it went from 0 messages to 9. how come and why is the vmail to email working part of the time?

Check the logs on the system, it will tell you (normally) why emails aren't being forwarded to VM.

They are normally frozen somewhere!
