5330e with mitel 5000 issue
« on: July 01, 2013, 06:19:43 PM »
i have  2 5530e phones that are giving me issues. when i put on the icp address and use the same address for the tftp server i get connected to the 5000 and then it doest and upgrade and then reboots and the cycle begins again. i take the tftp out and nothing happens even if i give the phone an ip address, gateway and subnet mask. i took out the ip address, gateway subnet mask and changed the tftp server address to a made up address like my modem ip address.... it worked but it says tftp unavailable. what do people use normally for there tftp server address and how come it keeps updating software on the phone and never gets anywhere?

ICP and TFTP address should (almost) be the same... What version of 5000 is this? the 53x0e series phones require a minimum software release of 4.0 to function in "compatibility mode" and release 5.1 to actually flash and come online with the proper software. I tried to install a 5330e on a release 3.2 system, and it acted exactly as you describe.

I know there is no such thing as a stupid question, but are the phones on location or remote to the 5000?
