SIP app for Iphone works in and out of office.
« on: June 03, 2013, 02:42:38 PM »
Hi

Ive seen some SIP apps on the market (for iphone) that will allow for profiles; ie In Office, External of Office.

I support several sites all with Wifi so in theory, which ever building I am in and Wifi is connected, my iphone would act like my 5312?

Ive seen 3CX - Could anyone else recommend any others?

Many Thanks in advance.

Go to Counter path and get free there client. Have used iSIP on an iPhone. As suggested the best option if budget allows is UCA. UCA SIp client works a treat and you can use it across multiple devices.

I am with LoopyLou on this one, Counterpath's free X-Lite or Bria softphone is the way to go, and Mitel tech support often uses the X-Lite softphone as a standard for testing SIP configuration. The main difference between the two (free/paid version) is the features you can use, the free version is pretty plain jane, the paid has lots of cools stuff (although some of it's features are not supported by the Mitel). Note that to use it effectively you need some kind of edge router that supports SIP, Mitel Border Gateway is the recommended solution here.
