« on: April 29, 2009, 02:11:42 AM »
Hi, i was wondering if there is setting that need to be ajusted for the setting up of a Door phone that is running off a ONS curcuit to a Intercom?

the set up is at this stage: Ons curcuit to Intercom, Push the button and Hotlines to 5 phones in ring group who answer, pin code entered and door is released all of which is working fine..

PROBLEM: Intercom is not dropping the call and phones are ringing again.

SOLUTION??

thanks

Usually in the door boxes there is a timer you can set to terminate the call after so many seconds.

What model of door box are you using?

One thing I haven't played with (much) is a class of service mark that tells a line to disconnect after a certain amount of time.  I think the 3300 will be able to disconnect the call after a few seconds.

V2win is correct, the door box should have the ability to disconnect the call or the line will never hang up on it's own.

The model is a Dallas Delt MK2.

have had the technician swap the Intercom with an analogue phone to prove the intercom is working ok.

have made a few changers in COS i.e. Answer plus expected off hook timer.

running out of ideas.?

we have this issue with elevator phones all the time...  often times the intercom device is looking for a disconect signal fro mthe far end before it will terminate the call...

go into your ONS / OPS circuit decriptor form and create a new decriptor..  and then set the option to YES for positive disconnect and then you can set the timer for how long you want the disconnect to last... its usually at 500 milliseconds (1/2 a second) which normally is sufficient...

I know this works on the cards in an ASU-II but have not tried with the cards in a PER node or the built-in ONS ports..

then make sure the polarity is correct on the intercom box  and see if there is a dip switch setting on it for far end disconnect...

the reason these devices dont hang up on their own is that they are hands-free and without a Physical signal  (battery drop or reversal) they have no way of knowing when the call is completed..

Answer plus expected off hook timer.
That would be for Rads.  Wouldn't help you here.

What You're looking for is the "Call Duration" Timer
and "Call Duration Forced Cleardown Timer"

Check out the help files.

Also,
The Delta phone is designed to hang up.
Check this page: www.dallasdelta.com.au/hygienic_phone.htm
That's not the How-to but you should be able to find it from there.

To have a positive disconnect on a Per node, you need to use an OPS card.  ONS will not work.

It seems it was the "Return Disconnect tone when far end party clears"

this was set to NO.

Thanks Gents.
