Can't pickup lines, and a few other questions
« on: April 08, 2013, 01:50:59 PM »
I work at a hospital and we currently use a 3300 ICP. I have a user that will get a phone call from the front desk at our hospital clinic. The front desk will tell her she has a call on line 1 or 2, or whatever line her call is on. She will hit the line key on her telephone on her desk and will be unable to pick it up. They will have the transfer the call to her instead. The lady experiencing the issue said it just started happening here recently. Is there a setting to change that will allow her to be able to just push one of the line buttons to pick up her call?

Also is there a way you can remote access your voicemail if you're not in the office, or is it possible to have a call forward to your cell phone?

Thank you in advance for any help!

There's a bit more we need to know.
How are the keys programmed on the front desk phone?   Do those lines appear on the phone that is tring to pick up the call?
What does the display say when the user tries to answer the call?

As for the Voice Mail.   That depends.   What type of voice mail do you have?  You need to have a number that rings to the voice mail directly.  Do you you have that?

The answers to your questions a whole lot of maybes and more information is needed to answer them accurately...

What type of keys and what DNs are the "Line 1" and "Line 2" keys? Are they the same on both sets? The most practical way to do this is to make appearances on both phones of the same number that are Key System keys (Multicall won't work).

Voicemail can generally be remotely accessed, the exact procedure will vary depending on your voicemail system. Assuming that it is embedded VM you can: 1) Point a DID number to the VM hunt group, 2) Call your own DID and when the VM answers press "*" and it will prompt you for your password, or 3) Call the main number and ask the receptionist to transfer you to VM and when it answers enter *<ext #> and follow prompts. There are probably other ways, but these are the most common.

You can forward your phone to your cell, assuming you have the correct COS options on your station and trunks, and the correct COR on the trunks, you just enter the Call Forward feature code and dial the external number.

Lost of possiblities. Solution depends on how it is programmed. Quick question is the line that the user going to push flashing?
