MAS 4.0 change users UCA login id or username

Hello all: was just upgraded to MAS 4.0 with UCA.  3300 are at MCD 5 sp1 Our old accounts were pulled into the central "users and services". 

We now want a diferent authentication "login" for each user, and being told:

"You would need to delete the user and reprogram to change the login ID. It is the anchor piece of data for a user, and as such cannot be modified."

What the fudge

Is this correct?  So if someone say gets married, and changes their name, you cannot update the login username ??

Hope this info is wrong.

Also has anyone got the Actve Directory integration ?

We're still on MAS 3, but I've deleted and recreated single users before for just this reason.
