« on: November 01, 2013, 08:29:45 AM »
Hi is it possible to have a 5212 mitel phone with a base number as a IP device only and be able to log into it as a hotdesk?

Thank you

Hi, Rebecca. I don't think you can hotdesk to a 5212. You would need to make it user/device and MAC it. Device only is 911 and internal only.

5010 IP Phone,  5215 IP Phone and 5215 IP Phone (Dual Mode), 5212 IP Phone, 5304 IP Phone, and 5312 IP Phone
Dial the Hot Desking Login access code.

Press *.

Enter your Hot Desk User Extension Number.

Press #.

Enter your User PIN.

Press #.

All devices that support Hot Desking can be programmed as "IP Device Only". Be aware that this service level is not supported on ACD sets, attendant consoles, UC Advanced, digital sets, Symbol wireless sets, ONS sets, single line IP sets such as 5001 and 5201, 5700, OpenPhones, CITELlink-supported sets, or the 5560 IPT (irrespective of hot desking support).

So I would say yes.

Cool, X-Man. Wasn't aware of that. I didn't think th2 5212 was a "higher level" phone. Thanks for the correction. "Perhaps a bit more than a talking to, sir."

Bear in mind that the hot desk login/logout codes are feature codes.  It may be different for your system.
For example, my defaults are *81 and *82

As long as the software supports the phone.
