Acknowledge 911 Alarm Notification
« on: August 30, 2012, 03:20:21 PM »
When someone calls 911 the phones in the office light up like Xmas trees.
How does the end user acknowledge this and shut the phone up?
This throws a monkeywrench into my 911 testing.

What is this covered under in the mitel 5340 end user guides?

3300 controller.....5340 and 5320 phones if it makes any difference.

Thx gurus :)

You need to add an "emergency" button on the phone via CDE programming.
When the alert goes off, hit the button.  The display will show you who dialed 911 and you will then be able to clear.

Mitel® 5320/5330/5340 IP Phone User Guide – Issue 3, September 2009

Am I in the wrong manual?
Is this something that the end user can even do?

Okay...CDE stands for customer data entry....right?
So the end user can program a button to access the emergency information.
Is there an example somewhere?

Sorry.  Yes, CDE stands for customer data entry.   It's the browser based programming interface.
Depending on the phone you can add the emergency button by pressing the blue superkey, then settings, then Programmable keys.  Find a blank key and assign an "emergency key" to it.
