External Call to External Speed Call/Forward
« on: August 02, 2012, 09:57:27 AM »
Hi All,

I have an interesting issue.

We recently moved from a PRI to a Telco SIP Trunk. Everything works great except one thing. External calls coming in cannot be rerouted to another external number.

Example. I have a series of DID's that I have setup to speed call remote numbers. Internal calls to these DID's work just fine. Outside calls coming in get a carrier error message.

Example 2. If I setup an extension to forward all calls to a remote number. Same thing. If I buzz the extension from inside the company I get routed fine. Calling from the outside directly to that station = Carrier error.

This worked fine with our PRI.

And Yes I am putting a 9 in front of the numbers.

I checked the COS for the extensions and SIP trunk. I even assigned the SIP trunk the COS from the PRI. No joy. Any other ideas?

Are you routing the inbound CLID back outbound on a forward or transfer?

In my experience, Telco SIP won't allow this, and will insist that you use CLID from your common block on outbound caller id.

How you connected to this Telco SIP via PRI interface or straight SIP to your box?

Straight SIP to the box.

The error for example if I call from the verizon cell to the DID that is set to speed call is. "I'm sorry the number you dialed has been changed, moved or is no longer in service". So I think the system makes an attempt to make the call.

Whats the easiest way to change the CLID on these re-routed calls?

Lets start in your SIP Peer Profile.

Public Calling Party Number Passthrough. Is that set to Yes or No?

Its set to Yes, I set it to no. And viola it now works!! Is there a way to re-write the caller ID for these based on the DID dialed?

Not that I'm aware of; you can only set one default outbound CLID.
