Swap analog extension with multiline DNI
« on: June 27, 2012, 10:28:54 AM »
The Move swap command tells me they are not the same type.  Does any one have suggestions on how to proceed with a swap of a multiline extension with an analog extension?

Thanks.

Unfortunately, if just changing the extension numbers isn't sufficient you will need to delete both phones and rebuild them.

If all you need to do is change the extension numbers, change one to a dummy extension number, then change the other one to the first extension number, then change the first (dummy) extension number back to the second one.

Follow Ace's directions on this.
You can't Move Swap an analog line with a DNI line.  The hardware that runs them are not compatible with each other.

To rebuild them how do I change the location they use?  In my Multiline set assignment it does not contain the location of the analog phone.

Example

Location - Extension
2-1-7-5   - 4506 (Analog)
4-1-11-7 - 4402 (Multiline)

You cannot move them strictly in software, this will require a hardware change by moving the jumper at MDF.
