Mitel 5000 Analog Trunk Hold Issue
« on: June 20, 2012, 08:53:37 PM »
We have recently installed a couple of these switches using analog trunking. They are set up similar to a Key system with the trunks appearing on keys where the customer can answer and transfer the calls utilizing the particular key on the 8568 Digital telephone.

One customer has seven lines that their reception area is required to answer and it appears that the hold indicator has the same flash regardless whether they or someone else has placed the call on hold. The customer is wanting the hold indicator to be different so they will be able to visually tell which line they have placed on hold and which lines someone else has placed on hold. Is there a way to manipulate this? Several other telephone manufacturers have this feature. Any thoughts on this will be greatly appreciated!

No.  There is no way to manipulate the system into stating that party 1 has line 1 on hold with 3 fast blinks and party 2 has line 2 on hold with 5 fast blinks. The only hold manipulation you can accomplish is individual hold or system hold (key system vs PBX).
