Making call using another extension number - Mitel
« on: June 11, 2012, 06:31:03 AM »
Hi Friends,
Is it possible for the system administrator to make call from a remote extension for testing it's treatment for outgoing calls?

You can use DISA but it's not recommended.
I suppose if you deleted the DISA option after you're through testing you'll be ok, but using DISA is an invitation to be hacked.

Edit the "system access points" form (used to be called "Miscellaneous Assignment" form and add a DISA code there for "DISA Forced Account Code - Directory Number".   Add in a DID number there.

Then go to "Independent Account Code" form and create an account code.  Be sure to apply the COS and COR that you need for whatever you're testing.

Call the DISA number - get dial tone - enter your account code + "#" - get dial tone - make your test call.

When done testing delete the DISA number from the System Access Points form.

After re-reading your post - disregard what I said about DISA.

The real answer is - "maybe".

If you have a PC there on site that you can control remotely, you may be able to use UCE or, if you can find it, YA Lite didn't require a software license originally so you could just install in and control any phone.   I used to freak a few people out by using YA Light to make their phone dial from their desk.  That was kinda fun.

If you are on that site you could assign your phone the same COR and COS as the phone in question and that should tell you if the config works for the phone. Is that what you are looking for?

Thank you all for your responses,
I'm not at the site so I can't simulate the situation.
I'll work on DISA response.
Thanks again
