Programming of an extension
« on: March 20, 2012, 06:31:26 PM »
Thanks Ralph, still didn't get no where.

I hope this is a Better & Clearer explanation:   The main receptionist line - when you call it the recording gives you the option to press 1 if you want to be transferred to the Security office, if it is selected it will ring the Security Office desk phone extension.  But instead of that the Security Office wants it to ring the Security's cell phone.

I briefly spoke with you Telecom technician who initially configured it, he said the 1-key dialing is handled in the NuPoint.  Don't know what he means and he want us to charge us $175 to tell/show me any further information.  I would like to be able to configure this myself, especially for the future, if I'm asked to change again.  There is no #1 voicemail box.   Thank you.

The NuPoint is a stand alone Mitel voice mail system.
It will have a separate login and password.
It's a much more powerful (flexable) system so that means it may be more difficult to walk you through making the change.
If you can log into the system, start by seeing if there is a mailbox '1'.
You can use putty to log in or web browser.
From there I'd have to turn you over to one of the NuPoint techs that follow here since my experience is a  bit limited on the NuPoint.
