Phone in two offices.

I have a VP that wants his phone setup in two offices.  We cannot use the log in feature. 

Is there any way i can setup this second phone so it appears that he is calling from his line. 

Currently his existing phone main line is setup as a KEY SYSTEM.

The second phone main line is 8815 as a multicall.

Not that I know of. what I normally do is ont he second extension make his number private but show the name as "xxx VP". xxx being his prime extension number.

You can use the "Associated Directory Number" feature and mask the extension with the CPN substitution of your choice.  This only works for calls outbound though and any calls within your voice network would still show 8815...unless you use Mitel100's solution, of course.

Use a personal ring group. That should show the DN of the pilot number (his main extension) when dialed from any of the group members.

I tried the Associated Directory Number, and that helped a bit.  When dialing out the caller ID is now showing as "unknown".  Even though i used one of our DID numbers.

Mattmayn; would that affect the external caller ID?  Or just internally?

Just programme his first line on the second phone and when he wants to dial out press the key for the that line so that he isn't using the prime line.

This does not work.  This was the first thing that was tried.  If the line is was not used else where it would have worked, but the line is also in a different part of the building.

I will try and talk him into hot desking.  With hotdesking, can he be logged into two phones at once?  And is there a timeout limit?  Would the phone log out automatically?

You can only Hotdesk into one phone at a time.

Somewhere in the back of my mind I thought there was a COS mark that allowed a user to show a different number when using a non-prime key.  - I could easily be wrong on that one.

Ralph...is this what you are talking about:

Non-Prime Public Network Identity
 Select Yes in the Class of Service of a non-prime line and the caller ID is sent to the public network when an ISDN/DPNSS call is made from that line.

Yes,
That's what I was thinking.   But it looks pretty obvious that this will only apply to trunk calls.

It worked perfectly!  But you are correct...only on trunk calls; which is fine for this situation.

For outbound calls you could have also changed the DNS substitution so it shows the same outbound caller ID for both phone.
That's found under the ISDN section of the trunk configs.
