Have to admit that networking is not my strong suit, but just know that I am not using my Netgear switch from my previous location when I was on Comcast.

The phone is directly connected to Actiontec MI424WR.

Thank you everyone for continuing to try to help!

What we are proposing is the router/firewall in your office is locked down to only allow connections to your telephone system from your old IP address.

Go to www.whatismyip.com and it will tell you your external IP address which is assigned to your internet connection from your ISP, this address will be different to the one you had before you moved.

The Netgear switch not being in the equation doesn't (shouldn't) matter.

Dave - many thanks.  I've checked my IP address and now provided that info to our IT folks to see if they can use that to open things up.

Will post the results of that once known.

5224 is not supported as a remote IP phone as it does not retain its code locally. You need a 53xx phone to be able to use it as a teleworker. Would also recommend being on the laatest Rel 5 software.

Mav, that probably won't wash as the OP has been using this phone for several years as a remote keyset.

His ISP has changed, this coincided with the problem he's having.

5224 is not supported as a teleworker !!!

There's actually no such thing as a teleworker handset on the 5000 anyway, it's a either a native phone, on the same flat network as the system. Or a NAT Phone, has to traverse NAT to get to the system.

I bet the OP is glad you don't look after his telephone system!

Hello, I seem to have a problem with my phone, i've moved house and it's stopped working.
Your phone isn't supported as a remote phone
But it worked at my last house and my house before that
Yeah it's not supported
But it used to work
But it's not supported, you need to buy a new phone, might as well upgrade your system as well.

Mitel® 5000 CP Installation Manual – Issue 5.0, February 2011

The software loads for the 5312/5324 IP phones are stored differently than the 5212/5224:
o For 5312/5324 phones, the main software load is stored in Flash memory. Therefore,
these IP phones are capable of running in an environment without a TFTP server.
o For the 5212/5224 phones, the main software load is stored on the TFTP server.
Therefore, these phones require an environment with a TFTP server

I can guarantee you I know all about the 5000 and the way it supports Remote IP Phones. I also know what 3rd line support will actually support. If in doubt, raise a ticket with Mitel 3rd line !!
