Mitel Phone Call FWD Light Flashing

Hey Guys,

A few of our office personal are 90% of the time outside of the office, so the call forwarding functionality activated on the phone is quite handy to forward internal and external calls to their ext forwarded to their mobile.

However, while this mode is active on anyone elses phone, where they have them on speedial on their phone book - they will see a blinking light on their panel.

Is there anyway I can tell the Mitel system not to blink when call forwarding is active?

The symbol in the upper left corner of the phone on that specific phone when call forwarding is activated is absolutely fine.

What kind of key is programmed on the users that get the blinking?

It sounds like they have DSS/BLF keys and they are showing the status of those extensions (as designed). If you want them to not flash I would suggest making them user speedcalls on the phones.

Was awaiting confirmation of key type prior to making a recommendation. But I agree with you here

Yes change to a speedcall key. A DSS/BLF is Direct Station Select/Busy Lamp Field or essentially a speedcall with status such as when they are on the phone, forwarded, dnd.

I want to say there is a setting in system options to turn the flashing DSS/BLF function on and off.

but i have been wrong before.

  Not sure on that V2, if so that is the fix.  A speedcall will be WAY less functional than a disbelief key.  Have to work with the users to see which they would prefer....

If I change to a system speedcall....will I be able to see if that user is busy on another call before I call them?

If thats the case, then the solution just doesn't outway the benifit.

If there is no option, I could program the button so that person shows up on say, the third\second page on the 5330's and on the 5360 show it on a page whereby its not going to blink constantly...

What do you guys say to that?

BLF - CFA Indication Based on Set Enabled

Select "Yes" to flash BLF indicators when Call Forward Always is active on the monitored DN.
