Hello

We have a 3300 with a mitel 5550 ip console used by our operator.

Our problem is, when the operator dials an external number let say for company x, when company's x greeting/options are presented, the operator cannot dial the chosen option/number. Also the operator cannot dial the desired extension at company x. I was told that maybe the "tones on" feature is disabled.

Do you guys know about the "tones on" feature as it relates to my problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Your right to look at the Tones key.
I would suspect that the problem is that the button labeled on the keypad as "tones" isn't really tones.
Go into your options and edit the keypad and take a look at it.

The way it needs to work is, the operator has a call on the line, dials VM, VM answers, operator presses the "tones" key and then dials the codes she needs to.
