Mitel 250 - Adminstration Training and Plugins

Hi There!
I'm a longtime member on tek - tips esoare.
But was trying to get help and learn the Mitel MiVoice 250 product line, and joined this forum!

Long story short.
'97 started telecom with Nortel, been doing all sorts of stuff.
Recently decided to help a client with MAC/Service on 12 MiVoice 250 sites, till they get replaced.

These are the requests I have gotten so far

Voicemail Password Resets
Reset a T1/PRI (currently they reboot the whole system when the carrier goes down, doesn't auto restore)
Swap Extensions
Change Incoming DID to go to correct extension.
Add new Analog Conference Phone


The old maintenance tech's company doesn't do it anymore, and he is too busy with his regular job to handle these sites.
He was kind enough to provide me with the admin password, but I don't have all the plugins for the sites (some I have, but others not so much.) He is hard to pin down, guessing ton of overtime and life in general.

I would Loooove to know more about the Following:

Software, and how plugins work
Basic Administrative Training CD's or Manuals
About 4 hours of remote training on the basics of administration, where a Mitel Engineer can provide training, and answer questions.

Currently, starting to deploy some computers out at the sites.

Any interest in helping out?
Manuals/Links?

Welcome to the forums!!

There are two different pieces of software that need to be installed to log into the system properly.

1. System Administration and Diagnostics Software.
2. Database Programming Plugin.

Back in the day it just used to be the Database Programming Software and later on they added the System Administration and Diagnostics Software.

So, basically you only need to have the last few of the System Administration and Diagnostics Software and you can install the DB Programming plugins as needed.

As far as the training goes, I am not sure if Mitel still provides that or not since they have discontinued the product line. Even then their last attempts at training some of technicians, pre-COVID, were dismal at best.

One of the best resources you have is F1 when you are in Programming as it will explain a lot of what you are looking at currently.

The next best source of Mitel information, in my opinion, are these forums as many knowledgeable people come here often to help out.

Just looking around the site you will find many of the questions you have are probably already answered, hint about the software.

As far as having bad manners I don't think many people come here with no questions at all, which is why this site exists in the first place.
