Double Ring
« on: January 10, 2011, 02:21:34 PM »
I've banged my head a bit on the wall on this.  I must be loosing it.

3300 MXe with MXe gateway.  Ver 9.0  PRI trunks

I've got a customer where they tell me the double ring for outside calls have stopped.
They want it back.
I thought it was just a COS mark "External Trunk Standard Ringback".   Should be "No."

I've gone through the COS of the PRI trunks on the gateway controller
The IP trunks COS  - both controllers
The COS of the stations them selves.   All have "External Trunk Standard Ringback" set to no.

I've got to be missing something - don't know what.

Anyone got an idea?

Ralph

Hi Ralph, in system options ensure that the option Ringing Cadence for Tie Line Calls is set to external.

Also a note from the docs is:

Select "Internal" to indicate that a single ringing cadence is to simulate an internal call or "External" to indicate that a double ringing cadence is to simulate an external call.

Enabling External Trunk Standard Ringback in the COS overrides this setting.

Hope this helps

Thanks Mitel100,
I had actually checked that yesterday before my posting but went back again to re-verify.
System options is set to external.
All COS's involved are all set to "no".

I'm baffled.  I'm sure it's something stupid I've overlooked (it usually is) but I've no idea where.
Not much in the docs on this.
I wonder if (1) there's something in the PRI programming I've missed or (2) can the carrier provide the ringback?

may seem a silly question but when was the last reboot of the controller? I have seen strange things happen on R8/9 systems that have not been rebooted for a while.

I haven't rebooted yet, it's kind of a stressful event for this customer.

But I have a new question:
Is it possible that a carrier can provide/override the ring back tone on a PRI?

Still haven't rebooted.....
But..
Mitel Tech support hasn't been able to make it work in their lab.

I don't feel so bad now.

Ralph,
Did you ever get a fix for this?

I have a customer who is having the opposite issue. Its doing the double ring, and yet the COS for the PRI has "External Trunk Standard Ringback" set to yes.

No.  Never got it fixed.  The customer decided it wasn't that big of deal.
Funny.  Mitel tech support couldn't figure it out in their lab either.
