NTP Settings on 3300 9.0
« on: November 17, 2021, 09:27:31 AM »
I have four 3300's on version 9.0 that connect to a MX III system.  I can see in the MX menu where to change NTP settings.  Do I also need to change NTP settings in the 3300 units?   I've seen instructions on how to do this from other post by doing this:  System Properties > System Settings > Date & Time.   I do not have the Date & Time option to change in my units.

I'm guessing that the MX uses it's NTP server to sync all connected 3300 units, but it would be great if someone can confirm this.

Thanks!
Sully

Hi Sully,

Are all the MiVB's physical controllers? On virtual ones, the NTP setting's are within MSL. Log into Server Manager and you'll see the Date & Time settings on the left hand side.

9.0 systems use the MSL setting for this, no longer within the MCD

Thanks for this information.  I'm sorry that I'm not familiar with all the Mitel acronyms.   The 3300 devices are physical and the MX III device is virtual.

I think the MSL is the Mitel Server Manager?  This is the only device that I was able to update the NTP IP on.  To make a long story short we started getting ICP Comms Card Errors nearly every day and our phone vendor suggested that we change the time server to match what our internal network equipment uses.

Since changing it on the MX III device (The only device I could make the change) the errors have stopped.  Most of the errors are generated on Friday nights so I will know for sure by tomorrow.

MSL stands for Mitel Standard Linux and yes this would be https://ipaddress/server-manager
