Teleworker
« on: July 21, 2021, 04:53:08 PM »
Hello,

We inherited a 5000 system and have them up and running internally. However, I am trying to add a phone as teleworker and I'm stuck on Connecting to server. I've read other posts here and made sure the ports are forwarded and I've added the external IP to the phone (holding 7 and arrow up and down on boot).

So a couple things I am wondering:

1 Does DHCP need to be enabled on the 5000?
2 When I run a open port checker all say they are closed, is this normal?

Thanks for any help!

zstray,

1. DHCP on the MiVO-250 would have nothing to do with a phone that isn't even on the same network as it.
2. You have to open the ports up on your firewall to allow them through to the MiVO-250 or it will never work. If you don't know how to do port forwarding on your firewall then you may need to get some help with that. The ports required for it to work can be found in other forums, but at least you know what your problem is.

Thanks,

TE

Thanks for the reply,

I'm also wondering if this could be an issue:

On System>Devices and Feature Codes>IP Connections

I have P6000 and P6001 (with an X because we have no expansion card)

If I have set my public IP as NAT IP Address in the 6001 would that conflict even though it's not installed?

Could you please take a look here at the ports I've forwarded?

Thanks!

zstray,

You would never had the same Public IP address in P6000 and P6001 as they would both need to be unique when in use. Since you don't have the PEC then you can just leave P6001 blank for now.

As for your ports I don't know what you have going on, but you do have some ports in there that are not needed for 53xx series phones; if that is all you are doing remotely.

You do however have all of the ports you need to make 53xx series phones work remotely.

Did you set your phone to NAT in the phone settings?

System > Devices and Feature Codes > Phones > {Ext} > IP Settings > NAT Address Type: NAT

Thanks,
TE

Thanks,

I did set that to NAT

I did clean up the ports based on an older post of yours.

We are also thinking the issue could be caused by a managed switch. However, no ther services have been interrupted since adding this switch. We are testing today.

Also,

This is from the web login, it doesn't seem to be listing the same ports.

Another note,

Inside the LAN the phones get 'option 130 missing' while booting.

This phone I am trying to setup outside the LAN gets TFTP error.

Am I correct that TFTP is not needed?

Thanks!

The issue was with ALG passthrough.

This ASUS RT-AC1900P had RTSP and SIP Passthrough enabled. I disabled and it worked right away.

I hope this helps someone in a similar situation.

Thanks again TE!
