Page Groups and Whodunit
« on: May 18, 2021, 09:26:27 AM »
On the 3300, is there any way to see who dialed a page group?  We are EDU and planning to roll out 6920IP phones this summer with the bottom speed call button on each page being programmed to our 'Emergency Page' group.  However, students being, well immature at times, we want to find out who pressed the button to access the page group (when it happens).  Any ideas on this?

Thanks,

Unless you have a call reporting package of some kind that is collecting internal calls, then there is no way to see what device made the page. If you did have a call reporting package, then you probably want to talk to whoever manages it within your organization.

I'm thinking out loud here...

What if we created a loopback trunk, created a route for it as an 'Emergency' type, and then routed the page through it?
Then you could put an emergency hunt group on an admin phone when the "Emergency Page" button is pressed, it would automatically alert the admin phone with the extension that pressed the button and create a software log.
