Citrix / RDS and Softphone
« on: June 24, 2020, 06:22:50 AM »
We have MiV250 and Xarios Phone Manager.

Looking into testing softphone functionality and understand Xarios Phone Manager have a softphone license but they don't support it within a Citrix(remote desktop) environment.

Has anyone had any experience with softphone working within a remote desktop environment?

Thanks,

Tom

This question comes up from time to time... The answer is a definitive NO... Do not waste your time trying to get a softphone working via remote desktop session of any kind, it will be a miserable failure and you will have nothing but trouble call after trouble call. Either load the soft client locally, or use a physical phone.

Personally do not bother with softphones on the MVO250, the desktop softphone is bearable, the mobile app is a no no.  Look for a WebRTC product to run softphones, perfectly fine in Citrix and Remote Desktop.
