Backups broken?
« on: August 17, 2020, 03:36:18 PM »
Seems something happened that we cannot backup any Mitel MiVoice Office 250 anymore, fails about 80% through and db Studio just closes... Microsoft Updates? I can't be the only one, it's happening on more than one of our Windows 10 PC's.

I’ve had all sorts of issues with backups with Windows 10. Scheduled backups fail frequently and don’t transfer from the temp folder. I need to transfer files manually every week.

I haven’t had any problems doing manual backups though. Not yet anyway.

This just started in the last couple of weeks, up until then everything was fine... Win 7 machines don't seem to be affected, but 3 of our tech's Win 10 machines cannot backup now and no one has made any significant changes in software. And the backup doesn't just fail, it goes along to about 80% like normal and then the entire programmer just closes, like someone force closed it in Task Manager. I even tried it on my "RMAT PC" which is a NUC in the data closet that we can remote into so any remote maintenance appears to be coming from our companies IP address, and that one is the same. Tried about 5 or 6 different locations and the result was the same every time, although the exact place it stops does vary a little.

FYI... The culprit seems to be something that modified Microsoft Access database engine, to correct this problem:

To correct the backup issue, do this:

1)   Close MiVO 250 System Admin and all programmers
2)   Click Windows Start button and select Settings (the gear icon)
3)   Click Apps
4)   Under Apps & Features, find “Microsoft Access database engine 2010 (English)” and click it once, then click Modify button
5)   Select “Reinstall or Repair Microsoft Access database engine 2010 (English) to it’s original state" and click Next button
6)   Select “Reinstall Microsoft Access database engine 2010 (English)” and click Install and let it finish
7)   Click OK on the confirmation dialog box when setup is complete.

Backups should complete normally.

Maybe slightly different if your language is not English, but otherwise should be similar steps.
