Bright House SIP Trunk with AudioCodes Mediant IAD
« on: December 05, 2019, 09:16:08 AM »
Mitel Guru's,

Has anyone setup an MCD with a Bright House SIP Carrier that uses an AudioCodes Mediant IAD for their interface? They are saying that they need 3 IP Addresses from the customer.

1. An IP Address on the local network
2. An IP Address that they can send Options packets to for a keep-a-live, but it can't be the MCD and it needs to send a 200 OK. This seems odd to me.
3. The IP Address of the MCD.

The technician we were talking to from Spectrum says that they are using the old Bright House way of doing things on the East Coast and so it is not the same as the Legacy Charter setup. We obviously were not able to make it work since they didn't understand what they really needed to make it work.

Thanks,

TE

An IP address on the local network - this is probably for the inside interface of the AudioCodes
The IP address of the MCD - send/receive SIP/RTP traffic
An IP address to send options to that should also 200 OK back - why, why not keep alive on the MCD that actually handles the traffic, what if the MCD goes down but the options IP address stays up, they still think everything is dandy
