After doing some digging I found in the user guide (See attached) it talks about "Privacy". I've asked our local Mitel Engineer about it, and I'll let y'all know what he says. I'm thinking that based on that, that there is probably no way to have it turned off. Perhaps the best way to get around that (for now) is to configure it so that it is a Non-Hot Desk device.
