Hiya

First, great forum, well done guys!

I have an ongoing issue at a customer site and wondered if anyone had any thoughts.

It's a 160 user site they are all hotdesking using 5320's they have an MXe II on MCD4.1 SP1. They have 7 HP ProCurves providing PoE set up in a stack. It's a flat network no VLANS.

The issue is that every 2 weeks on a Saturday the phones on one of the switches (4th switch down in stack) logout of their hotdesks. The customer comes in every other monday and has to log on 24 phones manually all other phones on other switches are fine. At first I assumed an issue with the switch so HP swapped the Procurve but hey persto two weeks later the phones logged out again.

There are no logs in the Procurve suggesting loss of power or alarms, the Mitel logs just show the 3300 loosing heartbeat with the phones then that they come back up a minute later!

Help

check the config on this switch compared to others. I presume this is a reboot of the phone rather than just a log out (caused by loss of heartbeat). I have seen posts about ICMP redirects causing phones to reboot in the past.

Are they PoE?  Are they all in a unique area - IE can we isolate physical location vs logical?  Very odd sounding problem....
