How to call forward without the phone

Hi all,

I am hoping I can get some help, last summer we had a new phone system put in place and now I am finding that we have to keep some phones hookedup becasue the calls are being forwarded from employees who left. I hate to use the phones only for that.

it would be nice to have the number forwarded but not have the phone they had assigned being used just for that.

Any ideas?

You have at least 4 options:
 
1. Direct In-Dial form - point the dialled number to the desired internal extension
2. Call Forwarding form - point the internal extension to forward to another extension
3. Call Re-Routing forms - create a new Call re-routing always destination pointing to the desired internal extension and assign that Call re-routing number as Call Re Routing Always number for the extension that no longer takes the calls
4. Delete the old extension and add the old extension number as a DSS or Multiline key to the extension where the calls are to be taken.

I will look for those options, I am pretty new to all of this so its been an experience.

You can also delete the user (extension) and the create the number as a Speed Call in the system that direct to whatever destination you want.

This will free up the license and phone to be used elsewhere.

Thanks for the Info, I will have to test that because its very important not to mess this up, numbers and possible voicemails are needed for now.
