What do you mean "enable SIP trunk between two MiVB?"

Are you trying to share a PSTN SIP trunk between two MiVB or are you trying to setup a SIP trunk between the two controllers?

I am trying to setup the SIP trunk between two controllers to enable dialing from one controller to another.

I already set the network elements, SIP trunk and SEP peer (using default settings) but it is not working, can you help?

yes i have license for SIP trunks,

This is what i did:

1- Created a new network element on both controllers, selected other, marked the SIPPeer, default, port 5060
2- Created a SIP Peer profile, kept the default settings. nothing changed.  (Shall I change anything in the settings here?)
3- Trunk attributes, kept the default, nothing changed ((Shall I change anything in the settings here?))
4- created a route and a digit dialed.
5- modified COS for the route "Public Network Access via DPNSS".

When i try to dial i either get trunk busy or sometimes only silence.

You'll have to setup a trace and see what's being sent and received. Why aren't you doing a Mitel IP trunk between the two - if you are going to pass digits via a SIP trunk you'll have to tell each system how to interpret them and where to send them.

Why would bother with a SIP trunk which needs licensing? A XNet IP trunk is free and both systems have it built in and is much simpler than a SIP trunk... Are you certified on the product? It is one of the first things they teach you in networking (just before clustering, which you do not need here).

Can i create Xnet trunk for systems with standalone licensing mode? because in the help it mention that the license should be enterprise.

Correct, you need enterprise licensing.

yes i have license for SIP trunks,

This is what i did:
...
3- Trunk attributes, kept the default, nothing changed ((Shall I change anything in the settings here?))
...

Remember in trunk attributes you set absorb to 0 if you want to accept all digits from the other system.

yes i set the absorb to zero, but still same result :/

Do i have to set modify any parameters while setting the SIP Peer?

What version of software are you on?

Best to do a SIP Trace to see what is happening.

Correct, you need enterprise licensing.

That is incorrect, unless requirements have changed in recent versions of software... You need enterprise licensing to cluster and share data, you do not need it for simple Xnet trunks.

Thanks, did not know this. I just assumed xnet was related to being enterprise.

I am using  version 8, ok will try to trace.

In the help it mentions that you need enterprise license to do the trunks, it mentions:

"
Programming

To program XNET trunks

step 1   Ensure that the System Type is "Enterprise.
"

I am questioning myself now... I would have sworn it wasn't necessary. Wish I had two stand-alone systems to play with to test now.
