Is there a way to hide the time on the phone extensions?
« on: March 31, 2019, 10:53:15 AM »
Hello,

Our 3300 controller is having a problem with getting the time correctly. It doesn't connect update with NTP and it can't be changed manually. Rebooted several times, no success.

Changed it via Group Admin Tool, nothing happened.

Tried to change it via System Properties > Sytem Settings > Date & Time, still no success. It just says "One or more errors were encountered during form validation".

Is there a way to hide the time on the phone extensions?

Tnanks,
Renante

No, But you are going about this the wrong way... Fix the network or configuration issue that is preventing the time from being updated automatically, or disable automatic time updates to set the time manually. This form is very simple, not sure how you can't figure it out... Maybe if you included screenshots of the the issue we could assist.

if You have a internal DNS server try pointing it at that for time.

Thank you for your responses.

It looks like I have exactly the same problem as this thread: http://mitelforums.com/forum/index.php?topic=8535.msg37507#msg37507

The only difference is that I only have one controller.

Thanks,
Renante

That is not the same at all, the thread you are referring to had an issue specifically because of data sharing between two controllers.

Let's back up here... What software version are you on and is this a vMCD or a physical controller?

I suspect wrong or no DNS entered in IP settings. (guess how I know this).

Possibly, but that is less of an issue now days as that is usually required to license the controller. Haven't seen an off-line licensed one for quite some time.

But yeah, pretty easy to guess how you know this.  ;D

It wouldn't have anything to do with someone decommissioning and deploying a new DNS server without informing you, would it?  ;D

Pardon me if I misunderstood you. I have exactly the same problem as this:

.....

The "secondary" controller is having the issue.  Time is not synching, nor can I manually set the time.  I can set Synchronize to Disabled but when I try to change the actual time I get an error, Generic Forms Application Server:Internal Database Error!

Also, in the software logs I'm getting error CHUB SERVICE PROVIDER CHubSP:ReadSysId()->iButton Device appears to be missing

I have some VOip phones on this controller as well as a peripheral cabinet that all seems to be working fine, albeit with the incorrect time.

Thx for any insight.

The only difference? Mine is the primary controller. That's the issue right there. Can't change the time and I get the same error "Generic Forms Application Server: Internal Database Error!"

Same thing too, i get the same CHUB SERVICE PROVIDER CHubSP:ReadSysId()->iButton Device appears to be missing in the log.

Date and time was originally connected and synchronised to NTP. It was working fine before until we had a major power failure. When it restarted, it displayed the wrong date and time.

Sound like the iButton is bad, you can get a new one.
