partial PRI span
« on: March 13, 2019, 01:36:09 PM »
See my table below - we don't have a full span from our provider, just 8 channels. I thought we had 12 but we started getting random busies as the day progressed. I busied the specific circuits so that I could remove them from the trunk group but now I'm getting trunk alarms for the 4 that I've got busied. How can I get them back to unassigned and clear that alarm?

I have partial PRI's here.  I do not have all the trunks in the trunk groups.  I only have 12 in my trunk groups.

OK, I misunderstood... Did you do an RTS command on them?

RTS 4 1 2 1 9
RTS 4 1 2 1 10
RTS 4 1 2 1 11
RTS 4 1 2 1 12

RTS 4 1 2 1 9
RTS 4 1 2 1 10
RTS 4 1 2 1 11
RTS 4 1 2 1 12

I never had to use the RTS.  When I changed from a full PRI to a partial, I just went into the appropriate trunk groups and removed the unused trunks.  When I do a STATE TRUNK GROUP ## it only shows my 12 trunks.

They are not programmed properly. If you removed the trunk number, you need to put it back (along with any other parameters in Digital Trunks)

I went ahead and added circuits 9 10 11 12 back but left them out of the trunk group. Alarm is gone, still seems silly that I have to have 12 circuits assigned when I only have 8.

I'm confused... do you have 8 or 12 circuits? If only 8, delete 9-12.

Thought we had 12 so I had 12 circuits programmed and 12 in the trunk group - was unable to call out using channels 9-12. Couldn't remove the trunk number from the circuit while it wasn't busied per system error. Busied to remove trunk number from circuit puts it in alarm that those 4 trunks are down and a state 4 1 2 1 shows 1-8 normal, 9-12 man busied  and 13-23 unassigned.

To clear the alarm I put trunk numbers back on 9-12 but left them out of the tg and it seems happy.
