MBG Configure on MiVB 9.0 for sip trunking via PSTN
« on: December 31, 2018, 12:27:30 AM »
Hello everyone,
I just upgraded my MiVB 8.0 to MiVB 9.0.
Since this version using a single IP for both MSL and controller, I'm a little confused how can I install and configure MBG on MSL?
I know that I can monitor and configure MSL using RS232 port on controller, but where can I set the Gateway IP of my PSTN for MBG and sip trunking via PSTN?
Thank you all in advance.

My understanding is that although there is MiVB 9.0 is installed on MSL it doesn't support blades like MiCollab.

You still need a separate MiCollab Server.

So, you're saying that I need another MSL for configuring MBG and I'm not able to configure it on available MSL?
In this case, what's the reason for having the same IP for both MSL and MiVB 9.0? What's the function of this MSL?
I think there should be a way for installing MBG on available MSL!

Sarond is completely correct, the MSL for MiVB is just a host for the new MiVoice Business software, nothing else.

You still need an external MSL server to host MBG or other blades.

Thanks mate.
What about MiVB for ISS?
In that case I have a seperate MSL server for hosting blade (MiVB software) and also MBG at the same time with a single IP (please correct me if I'm wrong).

Sorry... I have zero familiarity with ISS.

Can you go down the Mitel Express as that hosts the MiVB, MiCollab, MBG ,etc on the same MSL server

I might be wrong though

I have plenty of MiVBs on ISS servers (from Dell, usually) and never heard of installing MBGs on them.

In my opinion Mitel went to "MSL for all" as it's simpler than continuing to manage a bare metal MIVB version, ISS MIVB version, virtual MIVB version...
