Having trouble licensing 3300 CX-II
« on: October 25, 2018, 11:09:14 AM »
The 3300 CX-II is behind a customer firewall - So I do the following:

1 - Plug my laptop directly into Mitel Network port (so it is no longer on customer network) ;
2 - Set my IP to 10.10.10.2, subnet to 255.255.255.0, gateway blank ;
4 - Join Open Wifi on my Laptop,
3 - connect to customer mitel directly using Internet Explorer at 10.10.10.3 ;
4 - log into Mitel, attempt to license and get Error that it can not contact AMC.

The wifi is open and i have no firewall on laptop.   What am I doing wrong? I thought I've done this in the past successfully but it's been a while. Do I need to set a gateway or a specific DNS on the Mitel ?

Have you tried the installer tool? Choose fresh install, uncheck everything but licensing

The controller needs a default gateway address set to your laptop IP address, and the laptop needs a static route added route add 0.0.0.0 mask 0.0.0.0 n.n.n.n where n.n.n.n is the wifi interface gateway address.
