NuPoint Require Passcodes

Is there an FCOS bit to require NuPoint users to have a passcode instead of being able to remove it with four zeroes? I have it set to deny trivial passcodes but she will still allow 0000 which clears the passcode.

Wait... if you set the passcode to 0000 it clears it and no passcode is required?!?! I didn't even think this was possible, I will try to look at this tomorrow if I get time, both to assist you and to clarify an issue to myself.

I figured denying a trivial passcode would take care of it, but it did not. This deployment is on v Build: 17.2.0.3 so it's not particularly old.

I feel like it's one of those things where I'm missing something very simple.

It was simple, I unchecked 125. Shouldn't have even been checked.

125 Clear User Passcode

Allows users to eliminate their passcodes if they do not want to enter a passcode when they log in. Otherwise, users can change the passcodes, but not remove it. For security reasons, be careful when you use this feature bit. The user logs in, presses U to reach the User Options Menu, then presses P to change the passcode. The user enters four zeros, 0000, at the prompt to clear the passcode. This also applies during the tutorial.

Requires feature bits:

    070 (User Options Menu)

    073 (Enter and change mailbox passcode)

Nice find... I got side tracked today and didn't get a look at it.

I needed a solution from the other side, I have a customer that want a mailbox without a passcode for a specific thing and hadn't had time to look into it, you just saved me a little bit of work. Thanks!

I wouldn't create a mailbox without password myself. Could they get away with not needing to enter it internally?

Well, they did actually... Well I was involved in something else, another tech took care of it and just told the customer they had to have a passcode so they are now using one. Guess he was better at convincing them than I was.
