6900 series phones paging

On the MiVoice Office 250 with 6900 series phones, can you do direct paging or group paging like with the 53xx series phones?

The answer to that is sadly, "No". The 6900 series phones are still SIP devices and SIP devices are not allowed in Paging Groups. This may change in future releases, but as of right now they are not allowed to be in Page Groups.

What they can do is Initiate a Page or a Direct Page [if the flag is enabled].

They can page other 69xx phones.  You can add the 69xx to a multicast page group within Phone Manager.

Arrrgh, I still haven't memorized all of the new features that have to be programmed under Phone Manager versus the Phone System.

Paging phone to phone works, but only 6900 to 6900, not to 5300s. 

Also, it uses a separate Intercom key to do so.  So one key for DSS/BLF, and a second for Intercom/paging to a particular station. 

Hopefully this changes in an upcoming release.

Hmm... Yeah, I am still having a really hard time recommending that sales propose these sets to customers.

Yah, it is hard to look at this solution and feel good about it, but I am going to hold out some hope for it for a little bit longer [ver 7.0] to see how they continue forward with it. It seems as though we are going backwards on this especially since the 53xx series phones were able to work with the MiVO-250 with no problem.
